Network & Participants

An overview of the founders, investors, companies, builders and partners that make up the Lumen network.

The Lumen network is composed of participants who are actively building, investing or operating in technology. The categories below describe the roles participants typically play. They are not rigid labels: the same person or organisation may contribute in more than one capacity.

Founders & project teams

Founders are the centre of gravity of the ecosystem. They bring a product, a thesis and a specific set of needs - usually a combination of capital, partnerships, talent and market access. Lumen works with teams that can articulate their context clearly and are ready to engage with the right counterpart.

Typical contexts include pre-seed and seed teams shaping their product and fundraising approach, growth-stage companies expanding into new markets, and Web3-native teams looking for traditional business or distribution partners.

Investors & venture funds

The network includes venture funds, family offices, angel investors and strategic investors. Their mandates vary by stage, sector, geography and level of involvement. Lumen does not treat investors as a single audience: a fund that is right for a pre-seed protocol is rarely the right fund for a growth-stage FinTech company.

What investors typically seek from Lumen:

  • Relevant, well-prepared dealflow rather than volume.
  • Context on the market and the team before a first meeting.
  • Introductions to founders who are ready to engage.
  • A view of emerging sectors where the fund's thesis may apply.

Companies & strategic partners

Established companies participate in the network for a different reason. They may be exploring entry into Web3 or AI, looking for technology partners, seeking distribution relationships or trying to understand a new market. They bring resources, reach and operational maturity that early-stage teams often lack.

Lumen helps companies identify relevant projects and helps projects find credible corporate counterparts. The most useful partnerships usually have a clear commercial hypothesis, not only a press release.

Builders & operators

Builders and operators are the execution layer of the ecosystem. They include product leaders, engineers, growth specialists, designers, finance and operations professionals, and experienced advisors. Some join a team full-time; others work fractionally, on a project basis or as an advisor.

Lumen connects operators with teams that need their specific capability. This is not a recruitment marketplace. The objective is a considered introduction based on stage, context and mutual fit.

Ecosystem partners

Ecosystem partners include accelerators, communities, protocols, service providers, market infrastructure and platforms that support the development of projects. They can be valuable sources of dealflow, distribution, expertise and market intelligence.

Partnerships with ecosystem organisations are built around a clear exchange. Lumen does not add partners for visibility alone; the relationship should create a tangible benefit for participants.

How the network is curated

Lumen does not operate an open directory or a public membership platform. There is no account to create and no public list of participants. Context is shared privately, and an introduction is made only when there is a credible reason and both sides have agreed.

This approach keeps the network useful. It also means that the visible size of the network is not the right measure of its value. What matters is whether the participants are relevant to one another.

Joining the network

There is no single application process. The starting point is a conversation with the Lumen team through the official Connect page. Share what you are working on, what you need and why you believe there is a fit.

From there, the process depends on your context:
